As some of you may know, our very own Janell had her son, Parker Forrest, on June 9! He was delivered early due to gestational diabetes and spent several weeks undergoing bilirubin treatment and testing. Because of his jaundice, his doctor recommended one bottle of formula per day. Well, Janell has two other little ones at home so the PopYum bottle makes this easier for her to accomplish!
Janell breastfeeds, otherwise, and the PopYum bottle is also a great choice for breastmilk storage because the breastmilk is kept contained away from the nipple - where most bottles have leakage issues.
The PopYum bottle is cleverly designed with two "compartments" inside. You can pour the water in the bottom half, the formula in the top half, then put the lid on and provide these bottles to the daycare provider. When the baby is ready to be fed, the caretaker simply presses the buttons on the side of the bottle to release the compartment seal, shake up the formula, and it's ready to go! When you've got one baby on your hip and a few more around your legs, this one-handed formula preparation tool is amazingly handy.
Janell found that the bottle was easy to assemble and use. You have to make sure the compartment divider is dry, so that it will create a good seal between the water and the powder. When she was ready to feed the baby, she was able to use the bottle as directed to squeeze the buttons, shake it, and instantly have a bottle of freshly prepared formula.
