A: Doulas are trained support persons who assist families during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. We specialize in the nonjudgmental emotional support, physical support techniques, information and coaching that parents need to enjoy a satisfying and comfortable experience as they grow their family. Doulas are not midwives or medical care providers.

A: Doulas actually enhance the experience for your spouse or partner, helping them to support you at their comfort level! We'll be right there to give reminders about those cool positioning and pain relief techniques when you need them, and make sure you're never left alone if they need to eat and take a bathroom break. Most insurance companies do not yet cover doula services. However, we can provide you with an itemized receipt and you may send it to your insurance company along with a doctor's note, requesting reimbursement. This may or may not work but it is worth a try! If you have HSA/FSA benefits, you may be able to purchase doula and encapsulation services with your card. You may need to provide an invoice from us and a note from your doctor or midwife. If you use a Christian healthcare-sharing service, most of them will reimburse you up to $500 for our services.
